The Office for Disabilities Issues, located in the Department of Human Resources Development Canada (HRDC) is the lead agency within the Government of Canada for disability issues. Its mandate is to advance the Government of Canada's Disability agenda in collaboration with partners. The goal is to remove barriers and to improve the social and economic inclusion of Canadians with disabilities by improving knowledge and understanding of disability issues; improving policy and program coherence; encouraging innovation through pilots/demonstrations of access and inclusion; and broadening partnerships and engagement.

Social Development Canada: Equal Citizenship for Canadians with Disabilities Scott Task Force Report The Will to Act
